Tom Gladdis returns to Formula Two for a second season after a
successful 2009 campaign saw him record several strong
performances, including a maiden points finish in only the third
race of the season at Brno.
The youngest driver in the field in 2009, Gladdis achieved that
result after starting from 13th on the grid, passing several
drivers to find himself in eighth position. He came under pressure
from Robert Wickens in the closing stages but was able to defend
well to claim his first points score.
Further success followed at Spa-Francorchamps, where he recorded
a season's best finish of sixth. Again, it was his manner as much
as the result that impressed, Gladdis improving a total of nine
places after starting from 15th.
Remarkably Tom only started racing two years ago after winning a
scholarship to compete in Formula BMW. He also competed in Star
Mazda in 2008, taking one race victory and three podiums over the
season. Having demonstrated remarkable pace and maturity for a
driver so young and with such limited experience, Tom will be keen
to compete at the sharp end of the grid in 2010.
