21-year-old Briton Will Bratt joins the FIA Formula Two
Championship after a memorable 2009 saw him claim the Euroseries
3000 crown, and with it a drive in the GP2 Asia Series with
Scuderia Coloni.
In total Bratt amassed four race wins, nine podiums, four pole
positions and three fastest laps in Euroseries. He clinched the
title in the final race of the season, courtesy of a second place
finish which ensured he had a better head-to-head record than Marco
Bonanomi, whom he finished level on points with. Bratt dovetailed
his season with his studying commitments, graduating from Oxford
University with a BA Honours Degree in History during the
season.
As a result of his succesful Euroseries campaign, Bratt earned a
scholarship to compete in the 2009/10 GP2 Asia Series with the
Scuderia Coloni team, scoring solid performances for the team.
Bratt has an accomplished racing history which dates back to
2003 when he first competed in T Cars. He scored one victory in his
maiden season, before a renewed campaign in 2004 saw him clinch the
title courtesy of an incredible 14 wins and four podiums from the
18 races.
Between 2005 and 2007 Bratt competed in the Formula Renault 2.0
UK series, scoring his maiden victory in 2006 and finishing third
in the 2007 championship, with four wins and seven podiums to his
credit. In 2008 he progressed into Formula 3 Spain, with success
again following as he scored five podiums and one pole during the
season.
